Alkyd resins
Long, medium, and short oil alkyds on linseed, soya, and DCO, for decorative paint and industrial finishes.

Oil length decides the finish.
An alkyd is a polyester modified with vegetable oil fatty acids, and its oil length governs how it behaves. Long oil grades brush out and flow for decorative work. Shorter grades dry harder and faster for industrial finishes. We make ours on linseed, soya, and dehydrated castor oil refined in our own plant, so the oil going into the reactor is one we control.
Also sold as oil-modified polyester, alkyd polymers, and fatty acid-modified polyester resins.
Variations we develop
Seven grades, each tuned to a different demand on the film.
Very long oil linseed
High pigment loading, with strong litho properties and broad compatibility.
Long oil iso-phthalic linseed
Excellent wetting, good water balance, and fast drying.
Long oil iso-phthalic soya
Good wetting, compatible with resin distillates, and holds its colour.
Long oil soya
Good wetting and non-yellowing, for finishes that have to stay white.
Urethenated, rub resistant
Very fast and hard drying, with excellent scuff and rub resistance.
Chain stop
Fast drying at high gloss, for industrial finishes.
Styrenated
High gloss on industrial finishes.
